Passiflora manicata, also known as the red passionflower or the wild water lemon, is a captivating and hardy vine native to the southeastern United States. This perennial passionflower is celebrated for its striking and intricate flowers, featuring pale to deep red petals and a unique, multi-layered corona with vibrant filaments. The plant boasts deeply lobed leaves and tendrils, which it uses to climb and cover structures such as fences and arbors. Passiflora manicata produces small, round fruits, often referred to as wild water lemons, which are edible but not as commonly consumed as those of other passionfruit varieties. These fruits have a sweet and slightly tangy taste when fully ripe. Beyond its ornamental value, Passiflora manicata is a valuable host plant for butterflies, making it a favorite for butterfly enthusiasts. Its adaptability to various conditions and its ability to thrive in a range of climates have made it a popular choice for both native and ornamental gardens, where it adds a touch of elegance and attracts pollinators with its captivating blooms.  Zones 9-11

Germination

To germinate Passiflora manicata, start by rubbing the seeds with a piece of fine-grit sandpaper. Soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours to help soften the seed coat. Then, plant the seeds in a well-draining potting mix or sandy soil in a container or seed tray. Sow the seeds at a depth of about 1/4 inch, and keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged during the germination process. Maintain a warm temperature of around 75-85°F (24-29°C) to encourage successful germination. Be patient, as passionflower seeds can take several weeks to several months to sprout. Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, they can be transplanted into your garden or larger containers.

Could be more durable.
Color: A-Navy
It’s not as durable as I’d hoped. I’ve had to mend it. It’s cute, though, and my dog likes it. He’s an Aussie, so not great bite strength.

Cute but disappointing
Color: C-Navy+Oak, Color: C-Navy+Oak
One of my dogs love these however they are far from indestructible. Two days after giving the teddy to him, the tail of the teddy is off and there is a rip by one of the arms. They are very cute teddies but not for heavy chewers as they will only last a few days.

Nothing is indestructible
Color: D-Purple
Adorable. Looks just like the photo. My 15# JRT loves it! however the tail and one ear were gone in a matter of minutes. It’s his toy so I’m just monitoring his time with it as it’s his favorite 😍

Our Pit Bull’s Favorite Toy!
Color: A-Navy, Color: A-Navy
We absolutely love this MAXBECK bear toy! We’ve ordered it 4 times over the last 8 months because our senior pit bull is obsessed with his “babies.” He always has one close to him and even cuddles with them. The material is very sturdy and holds up amazingly well even with rough play. My dog’s favorite part is the squeaker. What I love most is that even after he finally tears into it, the rope built inside becomes a whole second toy for him and keeps the fun going. If you have a heavy chewer who destroys toys quickly, this one is definitely worth trying!

Not indestructible
Color: C-Navy+Oak, Color: C-Navy+Oak
I assume it is probably hard to create an indestructible product, but my puppy had it apart in no time.
